Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent...Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.

Residential Services

Hudson Lockett began his Architecture career in 1978, working on historic restorations including the Texas Governor's Mansion, new homes and many renovations.

With an aptitude for sketching home designs, he soon began working with a home builder in the Park Cities designing custom houses. In 1991, he established his own Architecture firm. Residential projects include single family residences, additions and alterations to existing homes. Recent work includes a variety of lake and ranch houses across the region. Master suites and kitchen remodels are the most requested renovations. From moving a wall to a total renovation, no job is too small.

When selecting an Architect, the homeowner should be compatible the Architect's personality and work style. Additionally, homeowners should:

  • Be demanding on the front end. Ask questions and make sure the drawings are complete. If you don't understand how much of your yard will be taken with the addition of a new room, ask the architect to drive stakes in the ground. It's not difficult for the architect and you should know where the corner of your new dining room will be."
  • Make decisions up front. From locating all the lights and switches, to selecting the finishes on your cabinets, make as many decisions as you can before the construction begins. Changing your mind later in the project will cost you time and money.
